Dr. Chung-Yi Chiu has over 100 publications and 39 funded projects – all advancing the field of rehabilitation pertaining to health promotion, well-being and equity for those living with diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's Disease, spinal cord injury and visual impairments. Her interdisciplinary research with engineers, counselors, informatics and computer science experts results in translational research with real-world applications for health promotion, e-libraries and machine learning approaches, including detection and prevention of veteran suicide, among her many translational and multi-disciplinary research endeavors. Her scholarship is not only funded and cited, it is changing lives for the better. Dr. Chiu’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, NIDLIRR and many foundations. She has received multiple research awards, including from the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association, American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Women in Rehabilitation Science Award.
